Good morning, New Jersey! The first recorded settlement in New Jersey, in 1624, was on Burlington Island. This 400 acre island off the banks of Burlington City, in the Delaware River, was also the site of an amusement park in the early 1900s. Sadly, a fire destroyed the park, but plans are in the works for some exciting developments.
