As Nicky Fifth and T-Bone patiently awaited the Senate and General Assembly votes that will name them Official Junior Ambassadors, students all over the state participated in the Race to the State House contest. Classes and small groups submitted their most creative ideas to let state legislators know that the State of New Jersey needs Nicky and T-Bone. This was an amazing way to introduce children to the legislative process and stress the importance of participatory government.
The entries were amazing and creative, and Nicky and T-Bone appreciate everyone’s support. Throughout this story you will meet the fourth graders and teachers from Katherine D. Malone School in Rockaway. They are the first place winners and their prizes included a major pizza party, Barnes & Noble gift cards, and each student becoming a character in this story.
You will also meet our talented second-place winners from Harrison Elementary School and our third-place winners from Delaware Township School. Their creativity and belief that Nicky Fifth and T-Bone are great for New Jersey resulted in their amazing entries. Congratulations to our winners and thank you to all who entered and to those who support Nicky Fifth and T-Bone.
